Abby + Josh
If a wedding is measured in smiles, then Abby and Josh's early fall wedding really does take the cake. This couple simply resonated happiness, and we had this beautiful, wonderful, and incredibly happy day being a part of their celebrations.
Congratulations, Abby + Josh!

Chalk it up!
Three or four years ago, one of the farms Kyle follows on social media posted a vintage car that they'd covered in chalk paint. They then invited their guests to write fun things and pictures on it and it went over so well - people loved it. And so did Kyle. And so he kept an eye out for something he could use to recreate this idea at our farm.
Then in 2018, we partnered with Wauzeka-Stueben schools for a fundraiser. On the way to deliver their donuts, Kyle's roving eye for scrap and crap found just what he wanted. Just outside of Fennimore, he passed an old 1960s paneled van that was for sale. It was a very gross orange color. It didn't run. Written on the window was "great for deer blind."
Kyle said: Yep, I'll take that.
For the next two years, the truck sat on the farm. I'll confess, I did not understand what Kyle wanted to do.
Not until my son took interest in the truck. He called the bus, and he loved to sit in it, turn the wheel back and forth, and talk about where he was driving and the adventures he wanted to have. During that year, we took a lot of trips in the bus. And I finally got it: Like so many of Kyle's ideas, the purpose of this truck was FUN. In essence, working on this truck sums up so much of why I love the farm so much. We just want to do fun things, and we want you to come along for the ride.
So this winter, during the longest stretch of time we've ever had between events, we had a lot of seriously good fun turning this truck into something for you to enjoy. You'll see this old-throw-away-thing-turned-fun-thing at the farm this coming fall, and we hope you'll leave a message for us!
